Kraft Box and Paper lantern Projects from Stampin Up Blog

Check out these cool projects from the Stampin Up Blog!

The Kraft Gift Box Hot Air Balloon Project . . . and More!

Today we’re going to show you how to make a hot air balloon “basket” using one of our cute Kraft Gift Boxes! Attach the “basket” to an inexpensive paper Chinese lantern, and you’ll have a “hot air balloon” in under an hour. This would make a sweet decoration for a child’s room—or fill it with treats (a cupcake would fit!) and deliver it to someone special.

I created the letter using the Big Shot, the Typeset Alphabet Bigz Die, and Real Red Cardstock. The decorative dots were a snap--just stamp small circles using a Sponge Dauber and the Daffodil Delight Classic Stampin’ Pad, then punch them out using the 3/4" Circle Punch.

Chinese lanterns are very inexpensive and can be purchased at your local party store. They make great decorations for summer parties--try hanging them from the trees in your backyard.

The butterflies on this lantern were made using the Big Shot, the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz Die, the Elegant Butterfly Punch, Real Red Cardstock, and Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper. I suspended them from Linen Thread.

I wrapped my final lantern with Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape (a Sneak Peak item from our upcoming catalog) and embellished it with flowers made using Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper (also a Sneak Peak item) and the Fancy Flower Punch.
